Teen driver in St. Mary’s shooting case put on house arrest

A judge ordered this week that a Bushwood teenager be put on house arrest and perform 60 hours of community service from his admission to illegally transporting a handgun and driving while impaired for his part in a shooting incident.

The teenager was one day shy of his 18th birthday when he was arrested Sept. 19 on district court charging papers alleging he was driving a pickup truck on Hurry Road earlier that day and his passenger fired a pistol round that hit a car being moved from the side of the road by its owner’s husband.
